- Dr. Geoffrey A Butlin founded International TechneGroup Ltd in 1978 and has been its Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board since 1998. As the Assistant Director of Research in the Engineering Department of Leicester University, Dr. Butlin established foundation software for interactive graphics applications in engineering leading a 20 strong team researching geometry representation, computer graphics, data structuring and structural re-analysis. In 1978, he founded FEGS Limited where he developed and built a market for the FAM, Field Analysis Modeler software package and pioneered parallel FEA. In 1996 Dr. Butlin brought the CAD data exchange software product, CADfix, to market. From 1966 to 1978, he held various academic research positions, including research fellow in Cambridge University Engineering Department, a visiting research worker in MIT and a visiting lecturer in SINTEF in Trondheim, Norway, pioneering. Dr. Butlin gained a BSc Civil Engineering from Birmingham University in 1963 and a PhD, from Cambridge University in 1966.
