This section contains other papers, manuals and large documents relevant to the history of the Atlas Computer Laboratory. It includes proceedings of some key early conferences, and the Flowers Report which greatly increased computing power available to academics. It also includes a selection of manuals including Mercury Autocode which ran on the Harwell Mercury and was then extended for Atlas, a description of the Stretch Master Control Program which was much simpler than the Atlas Supervisor, and a description of S2 Fortran developed by AWRE for the Stretch and Atlas 2.
The Stretch Manuals are included as there was quite a rivalry between Stretch (IBM 7030) and Atlas as to which was the fastest. A set of Stretch manuals can be found at http://bitsavers.informatik.uni-stuttgart.de/pdf/ibm/7030/
