The photo above shows the 360/195 Console mainly used by the IBM customer engineers but also for operators. The main areas of the console used just be the engineers are areas A to K are shown in the diagram below.
The maintenance system fully checked all data transfers and arithmetic operations displaying the results. It also did a full scan of all registers displaying their state. It was a significant activity of the 360/195 processor using up approximately 20% of the processor system.
