Books -- Overview

This section is aimed at containing the set of books written or edited by members of the Atlas Computing Division (and major users) while they were in the Department.

The set so far is:

• Introduction to the Graphical Kernel System (GKS) by Bob Hopgood, David Duce, Julian Gallop and Dale Sutcliffe 1986
• A Primer for PHIGS by Bob Hopgood and David Duce, 1991
• Methodology in Computer Graphics; Bob Hopgood edited the Seillac I Proceedings with Hugh Tucker and Richard Guedj
• Methodology of Interaction; David Duce was in charge of producing the Seillac II Proceedings
• Original PERQ Manual, Three Rivers. The loose-leaf first manual produced by Three Rivers in 1980. Of historic interest

If there are other books produced between 1975 and 1985 by members of the Atlas Computing Division or major users and the Copyright ownership is clear, we would be interested in including them in the web site. The PHIGS book is included here as the work was done in the context of the Interactive Computing Facility and the Single User System programme and was a natural extension of the work done on GKS and GKS-3D.
