This section contains an Index of various note sequences that give some idea of the coordination and technical development activities that took place during the DCS and follow-on projects. RAL was involved in assessment of potential researchers, coordination of existing projects and developing the required infrastructure. The notes reflect all aspects of the projects. It was a period when the Research Councils and the Department of Industry believed that coordination and common systems improved interaction between research groups and their research output.
As an example the DCS set for the period March 1981 to March 1982 was about 220 papers, approximately one every two days. For the early papers only the titles remain. For later papers a subset has been found. Links are provided to a subset of these. Many of the papers had only transient interest, for example the current state of finances. In many cases the same information appears in several drafts or updates and a link is made to the most recent. In such cases a PDF of the most recent one is linked via the note number.
The projects continued after Informatics Department was formed but for simplicity all the notes have been placed in one section.
Copies of only a subset of the notes have been found and some had only transient value and these have not been converted to PDFs.
