Brian Chapman

Brian Chapman was one of the support team provided by Ferranti/ICL to assist in the installation of the Chilton Atlas.

Brian worked on the Hartran system with Bart Fossey and Barbara Stokoe. He wrote the code generation phase of the Fortran compiler.

He later spent time at Aldermaston getting the Hartran system to work on the Atlas II and then integrating the Aldermaston Fortran Compiler into that environment.

In early 1966, he was responsible for the installation of Fortran on the Cambridge Titan.
