Raster Equivalents to Storage Tubes

The UK Sigma Graphics Option Controller first appeared in 1978. By then memory cost had decreased significantly so that it was possible to emulate a Tektronix 4010 storage tube with a raster display and a simple frame buffer to contain the display.

Each new model added features and as it was not restricted by the basic constraints of storage tube technology, could add new features such as colour, selective erasure etc.
