The working sub-groups, which consisted of three to six participants, were to study in detail a particular category(e.g. graphics primitives, attributes, transformations, etc.). Then, during a report of their findings to a general meeting, it was hoped that central issues could be identified and that some consensus could be reached.
The following transcripts, slightly edited, are a record of how the sub-groups examined their topics, were criticized during the general discussions, resumed work on more or less the same subjects trying to uncover what could be agreed upon as essential or simply relevant issues. Although presented in a unfinished form (they were never meant to be published) the papers which have been included here contain a wealth of information, which if polished carefully will bring out the true luster of these rough gems. These Working Documents should be of assistance with further work in the field of Methodology in Computer Graphics.
Part A contains five papers which have been conveniently grouped under the term CORE, a name used during the workshop to distinguish a particular relevant concept which was heavily debated.
Part B is related to a Methodology for deriving Program Structures.
Part C outlines a framework for the design of Graphics Systems.
Part D deals with three subjects worked on by sub-groups but which received less attention due to time restrictions and priorities.
Part E summarizes the Conceptual Framework and Related Issues.
