Graphics Section -- Overview

The Graphics Section under Bob Hopgood came into being in October 1970 and consisted initially of 4 people. It grew in size with the arrival of the PDP15 and the move from Atlas to the 1906A and 360/195 in terms of graphics support.

Bob Hopgood's promotion to run the Basic Software Group caused the Graphics Section to operate closely with the Systems Section responsible for developing the Systems and Communications software associated with the ICL 1906A. This set of Progress Reports describes the work carried out in the period 1970 to 1971.
