In this section we remember some of the staff who are sadly no longer with us.
Doug House joined the Atlas Computer Laboratory from GCHQ in 1964 and was in charge of day-to-day
operations on the Chilton mainframes until his retirement.

Mike is particularly remembered by colleagues for his work while in the Informatics Department
supporting the Interactive Computer Facility, and later as Coordinator for the
SERC/DTI Transputer Initiative which ran from 1987 until 1992.
He is also remembered by his friends at Boswell's Coffee shop in Didcot;
so much so, in fact, that his loyalty card was buried with him.
He was an ardent supporter of Plymouth Argyle, with a fondness for Monty Python humour.
In later life, Mike had poor health so moved to Yorkshire to be near one of his daughters.
He was buried on 9th October 2018 in Didcot, next to his wife Marjorie who died in 2002.
