Stromberg-Carlson sold the machine on the basis that it could produce output faster than any printer or graphical device of the time. The slogan was it does the work of 25 men at half the cost. As well as producing text at speed, its basic vector drawing capacity was also high. It could draw 10,000 vectors a minute, and produce 1.5 Million frames a year. A quick calculation shows that a single SC4020 in the early 1960s could generate more graphical output in a year than all the graph plotters worldwide.
