Hardcopy Camera

The sensitised paper camera on the SC4020 was fitted at the left hand end of the recorder. A beam splitter allowed half the light from the tube to proceed to the 16mm film camera and half to be reflected to the hardcopy camera. Thus it was possible to get both film and tape output at the same time.

Examples of SC4020 hardcopy output can be seen situated behind Gaynor. In the photo below at the left hand end are drawings of Charlie Brown and colleagues done by Bob Hopgood. One of the earliest animated films produced by the SC4020 was one of Snoopy flying around on his kennel!
