PDP15 User Note No 4: Some Bugs in PIP and FORTRAN V37A

W D Shaw

25 September 1974

PIP

There are two bugs in the PIP COPY command (C). The command:

C DK←DTn

will not copy to disc the last 2 files of a completely full DECtape. They must be copied using the TRANSFER command.

The command:

C DTn←DK

does not copy random access files created by DEFINE to DECtape properly, but omits a block. Again, the TRANSFER command must be used to move such files.

F4V37A

The file adjustment option of the DEFINE procedure causes programs loaded under DDT to hang the CPU. The option appears to perform correctly under the LOADER.
