Recently the 1906A/PDP15 1ink has occasionally been suspended while the PDP15 was attempting to write to the 1906A. Fortunately, the fault is recoverable and the existing software (which was described in SPROGS TECHNICAL PAPER 21) deals with it as follows. The PDP15 device handler ICA detects that the transfer has not finished and prints an IOPS114 error. At this stage the user can type ctrlR and the transfer will be attempted again. If this fault is repeated (at present three times) on the same transfer, an IOPS115 will occur and the user should ensure that the 1906A program is still present (job OPS-BSI, :OPERATORS). If the recurrences become serious inform JRG and give him any relevant output.
Recent information about the link software will be kept on the file BSHELP SRC on PDPIS user area <BSI>. The program BSIL will print out the date of the latest update to this file. At present (17 June), it contains the information about the errors mentioned above.
