A B Sabir, A C Lock and T M Roberts, Cardiff University
A B Sabir, A C Lock and T M Roberts all used the Chilton Atlas in the period 1968-1972.
In 1972, Cardiff acquired an ICL System 4-70 and subsequently much of their computation was achieved locally.
All three worked in the area of finite elements applied to structural analysis. Their papers were frequently cited in the literature.
Some of the papers of that period are:
-
A stiffness matrix for shallow shell finite elements, A B Sabir D G Ashwell 1969
-
An extension of the shallow to the non-shallow stiffness matrix for a cylindrical shell finite element, A B Sabir
-
Limitation of certain curved finite elements when applied to arches, D G Ashwell, A B Sabir, 1971
-
Further study of the application of curved finite element to circular arches, D G Ashwell, A B Sabir, T M Roberts 1971
-
A comparison of curved beam finite elements when used in vibration problems, A B Sabir, D G Ashwell, 1971
-
